Opportunity Card Germany
Non-EU candidates can use the Opportunity Card ("Chancenkarte") to enter Germany and search for a job without providing proof of a permanent employment contract. The card is issued to skilled workers or those who score at least six points using the points system. Additionally, they must have guaranteed means of support for their stay.


Eligibility Criteria:
Language Skills: A1 level German or B2 level English proficiency required.
Education/Training: At least two years of vocational training or a recognized university degree from the applicant's country of origin.
Financial Stability: Proof of financial stability, typically demonstrated through a part-time job contract (up to 20 hours per week).

Professional Experience:
5 years of experience + 2 years of training: 3 points
2 years of experience post-training (within 5 years) + under 35 years old: 2 points
Language Skills:
B2 level German: 3 points
B1 level German: 2 points
C1 level English: 1 point
A2 level German: 1 point
Other Factors:
Age under 40: 1 point
Previous stay in Germany (at least 6 months): 1 point
Excellent knowledge of English (C1): 1 point
Vocational training/university degree in an area of official labor shortage in Germany: 1 point
Applying with spouse: 1 point
Duration and Extension:
Duration: One-year stay in Germany, focusing on job search.
Extension: Up to two additional years, with application at the local Foreigners’ Registration Office.
